From homeschool programs to artisan series to campground naturalist programs, the District’s Education Department offers a myriad of ways to learn about the natural and cultural histories of East Central Illinois.

Museum of the Grand PrairieThe Museum of the Grand Prairie (formerly Early American Museum) at Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve in Mahomet offers dynamic exhibits, programs and events rich in local history. Homer Lake Interpretive CenterThe Homer Lake Interpretive Center (formerly Environmental Education Center) at Homer Lake Forest Preserve in Homer features live animals, a wildlife-viewing area and interactive exhibits. Outside, visitors can enjoy a picnic, learn about landscaping with native plants in our outdoor display, visit the prairie observation platform and enjoy trails along Homer Lake. email: Homer Lake Interpretive Center | phone: (217) 896-2455

Programs:
