From homeschool programs to artisan series to campground naturalist programs, the District’s Education Department offers a myriad of ways to learn about the natural and cultural histories of East Central Illinois.

The Museum of the Grand Prairie (formerly Early American Museum) at Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve in Mahomet offers dynamic exhibits, programs and events rich in local history. The Homer Lake Interpretive Center (formerly Environmental Education Center) at Homer Lake Forest Preserve in Homer features live animals, a wildlife-viewing area and interactive exhibits.
