In addition, we've provided a map of Champaign County with all of the Champaign County Forest Preserve sites highlighted. You can view this map below or download and print a copy. Click on the preserve names below to get maps of the individual preserves. More information on Sangamon River Forest Preserve will be available soon. Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve For more detailed directions from your location, try one of the following online services: Mapquest, Yahoo Maps, Google Maps. Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve is located 10 miles west of Champaign-Urbana on I-74 at Mahomet, exit #172 or #174. For faster access to the Early American Museum and Mabery Gelvin Botanical Garden, take exit #172. River Bend Forest Preserve River Bend Forest Preserve is located in south Mahomet on Mid-America Road about one mile west of Route 47. From Champaign-Urbana, take I-72 west to the Route 47 exit. Go north approximately 3.5 miles on Route 47, turn left on Mid-America Road, and follow the signs. Middle Fork River Forest Preserve Middle Fork River Forest Preserve is in the northeastern corner of Champaign County. It is 12 miles east of Rantoul on U.S. Route 136 and five miles north of Penfield and Route 136 on County Road 2700E. Homer Lake Forest Preserve Homer Lake Forest Preserve at Homer Lake is approximately 14 miles southeast of Champaign-Urbana. From I-74, take the Ogden exit, go south on Route 49 about two miles, and follow the signs. Sangamon River Forest Preserve
