FACILITY RENTALS
General Information
Thank you for considering the rental of a building in the Champaign County Forest Preserve District. Whether you're planning a wedding reception, family reunion, business meeting or company picnic, we have a facility to accommodate you. We offer open-air shelters and enclosed buildings in beautiful settings, in styles from rustic to contemporary.
Reservations will be taken up to one year prior to the event date for all rentals. For assistance in finding the right location, visit, call our Headquarters at the HI-Tower Bell Carillon in Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve at 217/586-3360, or e-mail hq@ccfpd.org. Our staff will be happy to help you determine which location best meets your needs.
Once your reservation is made, you will be sent a contract which must be signed and returned with a nonrefundable reservation fee (which is applied toward your rental fee) within two weeks. Two months before your event date, the remaining balance of the rental fee and the damage deposit must be paid in full.
Alcohol is allowed with building rentals if a certificate of Host Liquor Liability Insurance in the amount of $1 million and naming the Champaign County Forest Preserve District as an "additional insured" party is provided before the event.
The Forest Preserve District welcomes your interest in using our facilities for your wedding and/or reception. Before you make your final decision, however, there are a number of factors of which you should be aware. Please read our special information for wedding activities.
LAKE OF THE WOODS FOREST PRESERVE FACILITIES
Lake of the Woods Pavilion and Elks Lake Pavilion
Lake of the Woods Pavilion and Elks Lake Pavilion are our two largest facilities, accommodating up to 200 guests. Both are fully enclosed, with large fireplaces and indoor restrooms, and are located next to picturesque lakes. These buildings, which are open year-round, are especially popular for groups numbering more than 50, such as with company picnics or wedding receptions. Both are air-conditioned.

Izaak Walton Cabin and Riverview Retreat Center
For smaller groups desiring a rustic setting, we offer two cabins situated right along the Sangamon River. The Izaak Walton Cabin and the Riverview Retreat Center are fully enclosed, with woodburning fireplaces, full kitchens (medium-size refrigerator in Izaak Walton Cabin) and indoor restrooms, and they are both now air-conditioned. In addition, Izaak Walton Cabin has a lovely deck overlooking the water, and Riverview Retreat Center has a large, screened-in porch under beautiful shade trees. Izaak Walton Cabin is centrally located in Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve. Riverview Retreat Center is two miles north of Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve on County Road 2500N, making it a bit more secluded. Please note that Izaak Walton Cabin is available year-round; Riverview has limited availability, generally from April through October.

Golf Course Clubhouse
The Golf Course Clubhouse is situated on the upper level of the Golf Course Pro Shop with a serene view overlooking the Par 3 course and Lake of the Woods main lake. It has a private restroom, full kitchen, gas fireplace, private balcony, and deck with accessible entrance ramp. It seats up to 80 people and is popular for family gatherings and business-oriented events. It may be available year-round, contingent upon golf course activities. Rotary Hill Shelter
We offer three shelters in Lake of the Woods. The largest is the Rotary Hill Shelter, located near the Golf Course. This shelter, in a more secluded setting, is often used for large group picnics. It may be rented with a full kitchen access option or just the seating area.There are two playground areas and nearby indoor restrooms. Photos
Sycamore Hollow Shelter and Swiss Valley Shelter
The Sycamore Hollow Shelter and Swiss Valley Shelter are both centrally located in Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve. The Sycamore Shelter, partially enclosed, contains a sink and has a large grill for cookouts. Swiss Valley is a nearby open-air shelter that holds groups a bit larger. Photos
Near to both shelters are outdoor restrooms and a volleyball net. The shelters are located close to the boat rental facilities.
HOMER LAKE FOREST PRESERVE FACILITIES
Salt Fork Center
One of our most popular facilities is our Salt Fork Center that offers guests a beautiful view of Homer Lake. It has air conditioning, indoor restrooms, a full kitchen, hot and cold water and a deck. Photos Floor Plan
Walnut Hill Shelter
Walnut Hill Shelter is centrally located near the lake. It offers nearby indoor restrooms, a grill, cold water and nearby playground equipment and a volleyball court.

MIDDLE FORK FOREST PRESERVE FACILITIES
Activity Center
A popular setting for wedding receptions, family reunions and large group picnics, the Activity Center seats more than 100 people. It offers air conditioning, a fireplace, a full kitchen, indoor restrooms and a scenic deck.
