WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Thanks to volunteers, we have made our programs grow, involved more people and seen more children smile as they learned about their natural and cultural legacies. It would not have happened without help!

We are thrilled to provide a compiled list of 2010 volunteer opportunities for the entire Education Department. Some of you already volunteer with multiple staff members, and we hope this is helpful for you. Others of you may be looking to try some new experiences.

The CCFPD's Education Department has two divisions - Historical Education and Environmental Education. The Historical Education division is based at the Early American Museum at Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve in Mahomet and offers cultural history programs. The Environmental Education division offers both broad nature-themed programs as well as focused plant science programs. The main office is located at the Environmental Education Center at Homer Lake Forest Preserve in Homer, with staff at the Discovery Garden in Lake of the Woods and the Middle Fork Campground at the Middle Fork River Forest Preserve in Penfield.

Many of you know us already, but if you don't, here is our contact information. Please feel free to contact us at any time with questions or to volunteer for a program. Thank you for your interest. We know your time is one of the most important gifts you can give, and we value that gift!
