EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BLOODSUCKERS WITHOUT A BACKBONE: MOSQUITOES & TICKS

Salt Fork Center, Homer Lake Forest Preserve, 6:30-8 p.m.

Join us as we host Dr. Holly Tuten, a medical entomologist at the Illinois Natural History Survey (part of the Prairie Research Institute at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign). Dr. Tuten will share best practices for avoiding mosquito and tick bites year-round, and provide insights into their biology to aid in control and prevention of vector-borne diseases. Program will have indoor and outdoor components. Recommended for ages 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. FREE. Space is limited; registration required by September 21 at ccfpd.org. All attendees (adults and children) must register in advance. Current public health guidelines will be followed; programs may be altered or cancelled due to weather or COVID-19 related concerns.
