GARDEN SPEAKER SERIES:

HOW-TO START YOUR OWN TEA GARDEN

Online Event, Streaming on the Museum of the Grand Prairie Facebook and YouTube pages, 7 p.m.

With the large amount of time everyone is spending at home these days, the theme for this year’s Garden Speaker Series is “How-To at Home” with programs focusing on how to garden in various ways within your own home. The origin of drinking tea isn’t quite known, but legend says that in 2737 BC, when the Chinese Emperor Chen Nung was having his drinking water boiled, a few leaves from an overhead tree fell into his water. He liked the taste, and word spread of the delicious new beverage. In this program, MJ Oviatt, Master Gardener, will show you how to design a garden as a great place to enjoy tea and then discover a variety of herbs used to make this ancient drink!  FREE.
